Dear LA. You have spent a year studying law already. Have you learnt nothing? You will learn Consti this sem.
Create forum but only 1 channel and that is for tutorail swap. Then make some rule with retrospective effect and delete our post as if we are nothing? Are u afraid if forum too free, LA will only get negative comments? oh, good pt
Oic. U guys r king of law students!

Guys, lets keep the peace here~
I guess the LA admin has a right to regulate the forum, it is their forum after all.
It is worthwhile in my view to restrict this forum to tutorial swapping for convenience purposes, but it would be great if LA could consider opening up another forum where we can be free to discuss other things in open dialogue.

Have fun swapping tutorial guys!

I think I did not see the phrase "Uphold socialism" or "Maintain an egalitarian community within the faculty". And I see absolutely no justification for banning S&P of tutorial timeslots.

Let's face it, everyone has a price tag in their minds for a particular timeslot.
While the faculty is not charging you a surcharge for a "prime" timeslot over a "subprime" timeslot does not mean they are of equal value.

Why stop someone from exploiting the consumer surplus?
A deal must benefit both sides, the seller is happy for the money and the buyer thinks getting the timeslot worths more than the price he pays, there is nothing inherently wrong in that and everyone is happier than before the deal.

I am a bit outraged to see the LA is trying to prevent the market to evolve to solve the distribution problem. In economics there is absolutely no better mechanisms other than the market to distribute scarce resources, why take the trouble to stop the market from performing its function?

while i agree that price mechanism is effective in resolving the distribution problem.

I don't think S&P should be encouraged.

just like the fact that you don't allow price mechanism in every resource distribution problem, especially education.

Nulla poena sine lege. no penalty without the law.
and freedom of speech.

ya i think these two principles should be respected. and law students should know the value in these two principles.
